We are an association dedicated to providing preventive and therapeutic oral health care of children from birth through adolescence.
We provide regular and comprehensive Paediatric training as well as related medical thematic areas to ensuring our members are updated.
We have an elaborate pediatric dentistry research program envisioned to find solutions to the myriad medical challenges in the field.
We work with various stakeholders and actors in the society to provide empowering information about oral health care issues.

Dr. Nicholas Gichu specialized in Paediatric Dentistry in 2009 having completed his undergraduate studies in 2002. He has been with KAPD since inception and is one of the founder members. He has been a part-time lecturer and has been supervising undergraduate students in their research. He is a consultant paediatric dentist in both public and private sector. In private sector he has admission rights in the major hospitals in Nairobi for both in and out-patients, and runs his own clinic DentalDoc Clinic. He was initially the treasurer for KAPD from 2012 and is currently the Chairman since 2016.
Dr Salome Ireri is a paediatric dentist, Head of the Department of dentistry at the Kenyatta National Hospital (Nairobi) and partner at Mothersmile Dental Care. She had over 20 years clinical experience, having worked for the Kenyatta National Hospital, University of Nairobi and private practice at Mothersmile Dental Care (Adams arcade). She holds a PhD in Healthcare Leadership & Management from the University of Manchester –UK, MCLinDent in paediatric Dentistry from the University of London-UK, MSc in Children’s’ Dentistry from the University of London-UK and BDS from the University of Nairobi-Kenya. She is also a fellow of the International college of Dentists (FICD).
Prof. Arthur is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is the current Chairman, Paediatric Dentistry Association of East Africa (PDAEA), and has also served as a past Chairman of Kenya Association of Paediatric Dentistry (KAPD). As a clinical practitioner, researcher and a proponent of preventive oral health care for all children in the greater East African region, Arthur has implemented programmes geared to increasing access to oral health care by all children.
Paediatric dentist with 6 years of experience in the specialty. Regional leader of the pediatric dental specialty with experience in steering hospital teams and leading women in the field of surgery. Driven, energized and outgoing. Committed to working with and improving lives of people living with disabilities.
Dr Muasya has been working in paediatric dentistry since 2002- nearly 13 years. She completed her undergraduate education at University of Nairobi in the year 2000, then joined the same university and graduated with a Master of Dental Surgery in Paediatric Dentistry in 2009. She worked as a consultant Paediatric dentist at the University of Nairobi Dental Plaza for 4 years prior to establishing Furaha Paediatric Dentistry. Dr Muasya is also a lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Nairobi. She has been a member of the Kenya Association of Paediatric Dentists since inception, working as the Education committee team leader for 3 years during which he association carried out annual training of community oral health officers; the first of its kind in Kenya. Dr Muasya is the current Secretary of the Kenya Association of Paediatric Dentists and continues to work closely with the education team.
